The upgrade to the Manning Road frontage of the University of Sydney’s historic Main Building provided for the existing sandstone flagging to be retained and re-laid with existing stone blocks redressed and reused in new walls. Planting areas were redesigned with a strong planting scheme developed to better present this important vista. The historic avenue of Jacarandas strengthened and other species in context with historic university plantings selected including camellias, philodendrons, cycads, calatheas, gingers and ivy.
