Landfill rehabilitation and recreation design Sturt Associates was engaged by Marrickville Council to design and document landscape works and passive recreational facilities at this former landfill site adjacent to Sydney Airport. The site is over 10ha in area including an existing wetland. All landscape and revegetation works had to take into account the sites remediation including clay capping. Irrigation systems were designed to utilise waste water from a leachate treatment plant constructed as part of the site remediation.
