The preparation of a revised Master Plan for Bankstown Memorial Park and City Gardens was part of the review and update of the Plan of Management. Incorporating Memorial Oval, Bankstown City Gardens and the Memorial Park Outer Ground including Grahame Thomas Oval, the revised Plan identifies Memorial Oval as the site for the establishment of a regional cricket facility. With the Memorial Park and City Garden providing a gateway to the City, an iconic district park for the residents of Bankstown while meeting the active and passive recreational needs of the CBD.
